01. Breast cancer can be caused by injuring the breast. TRUE or FALSE?
     FALSE.  There is no evidence that a knock or bump to the breast increases the risk of breast cancer.
 

02. Ang mga babaeng may maliliit na breasts are less likely to get breast cancer. TRUE or FALSE?
     FALSE.  Having small breasts does not reduce the risk of getting breast cancer.
 

03. Breast screening prevents breast cancer. TRUE or FALSE?
     FALSE.  Ang breast screening ay ginagawa para mahanap at ma-treat ang breast cancer habang maaga pa but it does not prevent breast cancer.
 

04. Underwire bras can cause breast cancer. TRUE or FALSE?
     FALSE.  May mga taong nagform ng myth na ang bras ay maaaring magtrap ng toxins na maaaring mag-cause ng breast cancer but there is no scientific evidence to prove this claim kaya hindi ito totoo.
 

05. Deodorant can cause breast cancer. TRUE or FALSE?
     FALSE.  Using anti-perspirant may sometimes clog underarm pores. However, there is no current evidence to suggest a link between anti-perspirants and breast cancer.
 

06. Breast cancer only passes from the mother’s side of the family. TRUE or FALSE?
     FALSE.  Totoo na kung ang iyong ina ay may breast cancer, your risk of breast cancer might be higher. Ngunit kung ang may kababaihan sa pamilya ng iyong ama na may breast cancer gaya ng kapatid niyang babae o nanay niya, you’re still at a higher risk.
 

07. Breast cancer is not a threat until after menopause. TRUE or FALSE?
     FALSE.  2,307 women were newly diagnosed in 2005. Sa bilang na ito, 70 o 3% ay nasa 20s and 30s ang edad. Dahil sa hindi ka pa magmemenopause, hindi ibig sabihin na you are not at risk of breast cancer.
 

08. Nakakahawa ang breast cancer. It can be spread by air, by touch or drinking from the same cup as someone with breast cancer. TRUE or FALSE?
     FALSE.  Cancer is not a desease that is transmitted from one person to another. Breast cancer is defined as an abnormal growth in breast cells resulting to a malignant tumor of the breast tissue. Changes in one woman’s cells cannot affect the cells of another woman.
09. Stress causes breast cancer. TRUE or FALSE?
     FALSE.  Studies have failed to find any evidence that people who tend to be anxious or stressed are any more likely to develop breast cancer than people who are relaxed.

 
10. If you have breast cancer, you will probably die. TRUE or FALSE?
     FALSE.  Ang breast cancer diagnosis ay hindi death sentence. While breast cancer is the third leading cause of cancer deaths in women (after lung and colon cancer), the vast majority of women who were diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago are still alive.

 
11. A mammogram prevents breast cancer. TRUE or FALSE?
     FALSE.  A mammogram cannot prevent breast cancer. It is just a tool to screen for and detect the desease at an early stage.

 
12. A mammogram causes breast cancer. TRUE or FALSE?
     FALSE.  A mammogram is a safe procedure that uses extremely low levels of radiation to create detailed images of the breast. There are quality standards to assure that mammography systems are safe and use the lowest dose of radiation possible.
